Warning: Total Fluff Piece!

Carnitas is so cute
Carnitas Fajita Burrito

A whole twelve pounds of fluff, that is. She is my little monkey.

Meet Carnitas Fajita Burrito. Yes, that is her full name. My brother sings it to her—she goes nuts!

Carnitas was my first foster. I’m a foster flunk out. But I went on to foster another nine after her, so I brought my grades up eventually. (If you are within about 30 miles of Baltimore, check out Pet Rescue of Maryland before you get your next bundle of fluffy joy.)

She got her name from the fact that she tried to take out an Irish Wolf Hound (and I lived a block from a Chipotle) when I first got her. I told her she was just a little piece of meat to him… and the name stuck.

My little thing is a Chihuahua-Terrier mix, so I call her a Chihuarier. If you say it right, it sounds like chee-warrior. And she lives up to that protective and vicious breed name. But like the best warriors, she shows her proven tribe nothing but love.

Carnitas was my copilot on my summer road tripStrike a pose, Carnitas!

As you can see from the pictures, she loves to hang out with me while I work. And when I had a J-O-B where I got to work from home for a bit, I loved hanging out with her while I made the bacon. When it came time to make some big life decisions, I chose to start my own editing business so I could continue to snuggle with her all day long.

It’s not always rainbows and butterflies. She gets pretty jealous of the attention my electronic devices receive. I have yet to make her understand that they mean nothing to me. I should have known there would be a problem. She stole my wireless mouse when I first got her. I found it behind the entertainment center.

Carnitas let me meditate during a hike by a lake.
I was surprised when she settled long enough to let me meditate during a hike near a lake in Tennessee

So if you ever think I’m taking too long to respond to your emails, just remember I have to snuggle with this cute little one. Hopefully we’re not at the vet, but she is 13+, so those visits happen a bit more often now. Or maybe we are enjoying a hike. I’m willing to admit that she comes first!!

I want to see all of your fluffy companions (and the not-so-fluffy, I love all animals)! Please fill up my Twitter feed with cute pics. Although, there is a good chance I’m going to think this little peanut is cuter…

  1. This is so sweet. I love the last two pictures the best! Animals touch emotion places. I see the dog, I think of my father’s love for dogs, I want to cry.

    • Yes, my little snuggle bunny loves blankets and pillows! Sorry I made you want to cry, though. It sounds like you need some puppy therapy, maybe at the SPCA or another rescue.
